But one area where there continues to be dramatic reform is in disclosure practices. A new Report on Business review of governance trends reveals Canadian companies are giving shareholders a growing volume of information about their executive compensation and their boards of directors. The Globe's Janet McFarland reported Monday that many of the disclosure changes are related to the amount of detail being disclosed about compensation for executives and directors — a reform being championed by powerful shareholder activists.
